This was one of a few hospital stays Cady would have over the next month or so. She'd begun having some trouble with her balance as well as a headache that she couldn't get rid of.

they admitted her to run some more tests. daily MRI's, lab work.... they determined that one of her problems with chronic anemia is that when she had her bowel resection in 2002, that removed a portion of her intestine that absorbs iron. So it doesn't matter how much iron supplements we give her orally.... she can't absorb them. So they began the first of monthly lifetime infusions of ferritin (IV iron)... as well as B12 injections.
