first thing in the morning we were greated by one of our new friends waiting for us just off the side of the deck. she was eating corn and didn't run when we came outside to enjoy our coffee/tea.
another annual tradition is to stop at the lake on the way home. We lingered and took some pictures... we did get to meet the local game warden who came onto the little island to make sure we weren't fishing. Ended up having a nice visit with him..
a parting shot of the mountains as we were leaving the area. hopefully they'll be greeting us again next summer.

such a contrast to the mountains.... flatlands of western Kansas.... no less beautiful though.
