when she described how she wanted her room to look... I thought..."eewww, that sounds tacky". However, a week later and this is what we had. alot cuter than I thought it would look. pretty cheap to do too.... most of the paint was leftovers.... the tan from the upstairs bathroom and the pink from when we did her room a couple years ago. The brown I used for the center stripe and doors was just a small quart. I'm sure I will be able to use it for some future project. I got the wallpaper at Menards in their clearance aisle. It had gotten damp on one end and the paper was matted together on that end.. I just used my jigsaw and cut that end off... then I began to cut 6 inch wide strips (ended up being 38 strips) that I applied like a border.. flipping each one so the pattern would match.
bought a full size leopard bedskirt at the thrift store along with 2 leopard print flat sheets that I cut up and made curtains and pillowcases. also purchased a new tan comforter at big lots. We kept her existing furniture and carpet (which I know doesn't match but hopefully will replace soon).
all together I spent $40 to revamp her room... she's happy with it.
