27 Sep 08 - do you believe in Angels?

Cady and I decided to stop by a thrift store in Atchison that we like to go to every once in awhile... anyhow... on one of the display's when we first walked in were some old dolls from the 1940's. I was looking at them and was telling Cady that Grandma Sherri (my mom) and Aunt Sis probably played with dolls like this...

we then continued to browse... we went over to the children's book section to look for some books for the grandbabies. Cady commented that she remembers when she was little how Aunt Sis used to read stories to her a lot. We picked up a few books, paid for our purchases and proceeded on to St. Joe to finish our shopping.

When we got home that evening we unloaded the car and began to look at some of our purchases. I picked up one of the books we bought at the thrift store that morning and I nearly fell over....



there on the inside cover was Aunt Sis' handwriting. This was a book that she had given Cady when she was a baby... (up until she was about a year old, most of the family spelled her name as Katie... ) I don't know how it ended up at that thrift store because we've never donated anything there. I can only guess that it had gotten left at Tracey's and when she moved last year she took stuff to the thrift store... but that's just a guess.



I could feel her with us that day.... our multiple conversations about her and then finding the book.... I do believe that she's an angel watching over us!!
