14 Mar 09 - a visit with Tracey & girls

Tracey has been a friend of mine since I moved to Atchison in 1991. She was my next door neighbor and when Cady was diagnosed, Tracey was such a big help with the boys while I had to be at KUMC with Cady.... last year she got remarried and moved to Mississippi. She came back to visit for a couple days and brought Tabby with her (Denise didn't move with her mom, she stayed in Atchison)... OMG, I had a great visit and I was so happy to see her.

13 Mar 09 - light pole

any of you who remember December 2007 should remember the damage to this area from the ice storm.... we had light poles that fell over and ones that just snapped.... there were crews working round the clock at that time to patch things up. They did a fine job, getting power restored in a pretty quick amount of time. However, the poles weren't necessarily straight or perfectly aligned..... until now.


crews have been replacing all the light poles in this area with new ones... and placing them closer together to lessen the strain on each pole if another ice storm should hit... it was fun watching them.


and NO, they didn't see me snapping pictures.... I did it through the window blinds. My family already knows that I'm nuts...I don't think the electric company needs to know too... LOL

Jhace went home in the afternoon and as soon as George got off work, he drove to Sabetha to pick up little girl.... and here she is chewing on that same ol' watch.. (that watch needs to have a blog all its own)... LOL
